In the course Fashion Design we teach practical knowledge about the profession.
Lecturers of the artistic school ISCFD are professionally active specialists who transmit their knowledge and information related to a certain specialization on a current basis. Apart from classical artistic subject taught with regard to a certain profession, students participate in classes in which - modelling on the famous fashion school St. Martin's School of Art in London - they study fashion design basing on the identification of the needs of the fashion market, strategy and business planning, marketing connected with fashion design. All students, before making an attempt to obtain the Diploma of Fashion and Costume Design, are obliged to get credited an external internship in a company assigned to them. Moreover, they enrich the knowledge from the school by going on trips to domestic and foreign fairs and by keeping abreast of cultural and social events. Studying the English language is also treated as priority. Knowledge of foreign languages is indispensable in order to take advantage of professional foreign literature connected with fashion design, English materials available in the school and the ability to communicate with foreign lecturers or associates of ISCFD.

COSTUME DESIGN
Daytime studies, evening studies and weekend studies.
Tuition fee PLN 390 (around EUR 100) per month.
Practically each candidate to the school asks what the difference between costume design and fashion design is. The answer is easy. The difference is the same as the difference between a carpenter and a sculptor despite both of them "work in the wood". The profession of a fashion designer is more linked to the production of clothes from the very beginning and a particular technical knowledge. A costume designer is a person creating reality from finished products available in the market according to the requirements of a director or a photographer. Fashion designing is a more individual profession, whereas a costume designer usually works in a group. A fashion designer himself/herself organizes his/her time, the work of a costume designer is adjusted to the general schedule of a play, film or other production. Both courses comprise the same artistic subjects, general plastic arts subjects and foreign languages in the 1st year. After holidays we choose specializations varying in the scope of their syllabus.

ONE-YEAR POST-SECONDARY SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS AFTER COMPLETION OF 2nd YEAR AT THE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS
If you study at the Academy of Fine Arts and you want to acquire additional specialisation, you are invited to attend a one-year course, prepared specially for student of higher artistic schools.
Taught subjects:
- Fashion design / costume design,
- tailor techniques,
- clothes construction and modelling.
Daytime studies: classes twice a week
hours 8-12.00.
Evening studies: classes once a week
hours 17-21.00.
Weekend studies: Classes 2 a month
on Saturday from 9 to17.00.
Classes in the Polish language.
Tuition fee PLN 290 (around EUR 80) a month.
Most educational materials are provided in all courses within the tuition fee.
