Our last year's diploma candidates were selected to present their collections during the trade fair Pret-a-porter in Paris.
Every year, our alumni are admitted to the world famous art schools such as Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and the London College of Fashion.
One of our students won an international Jimmy Choo shoe design contest.
It has become a general rule that all of our diploma candidates work in their profession.
Our school is a partner of the Fashion Designer Awards and the Polish Humanitarian Action's campaign ''Fashionable and ethical," and has established a partnership with the University for the Creative Arts in Great Britain.
How long does it take to complete a course in your School and what kind of a diploma is received following their succesful completion?
The education in our School lasts 2.5 years / 5 terms. The last term is intended for the preparation for the diploma exam.
Our school is entitled to grant the Diploma of Fashion and Costume Designer pursuant to the licence and entry to the Ministry of Culture register of art schools, No. 377/31/2004.
Our diplomas are granted in Polish and English and are translated into the ECTS system. Students also receive a diploma supplement.
Do I, as a Polish secondary school student, need to take matura exams in any specific subjects to be admitted to your School?
We require that every candidate has a valid matura certificate and we put no restrictions on the choice of the subjects.
How many students are there in a group in your School?
A typical group in our School consists of between 15 and 25 students. The groups, however, may be divided into smaller groups or merged with other if a lesson or lecture requires that.
What do I need to do to complete a course term in your School?
All the assessments in our School are in line with the requirements of the European Union and the current Polish law regarding education. Each student receives a student record book ('indeks'), in which his or her exams and educational achievements are documented. In order to complete a term, you may be requested to submit a project, read a specific book or pass an end-of-term or final exam. You may be also asked to do an exercise or perform some other practical activities according to your individual education programme.
What is the difference between costume design and fashion design?
We encourage you to read the introduction to the costume design in section COURSES.
What does studying in English look like in your School?
Students begin the English lessons in our School at the intermediate or elementary level. In the second year of studies, the vocational subjects are taught in English. Students pass their diploma exams both in Polish and in English.
Are there any admission tests?
In the academic year 2010/2011, there are no admission tests or interviews. Just like in the previous years, the candidates are admitted on the first come first rule. Some candidates may be admitted after winning a scholarship contest (see NEWS).
Does your School organize extramural traineeships and internships?
Yes. We provide our students with the possibility to intern in clothing companies, production houses, photographic studios, theatres, film sets etc. Those internships are organized by our School and are recorded in the students' records. Undergoing an internship is obigatory for the second-year and diploma term students. The written traineship certificate becomes an important element of their CV and portfolio.
How high are tuition fees in your school?
The monthly fee in the academic year 2011/2012 is 470 PLN for all the modes of study (full-time and extramural). You are required to pay your fees on a monthly basis from September to June.** The monthly fee for the one-year course for the Fine Art students is 250 PLN.
**For students who pay their fees regularly, according to the agrement and the School's charter, by the 5th of each month in advance, there are no fees during the holiday period.
Will the tuition fees be increased?
As the only art school we guarantee that your fees will not change throughout one academic year following your admission to our school.
What are the modes of study in your School?
We can offer you a complete choice of learning possibilites.
The FULL-TIME MODE is designed for students who can devote the maximum amount of their time to studying and want to take the full advantage of the School's potential.
The EXTRAMURAL MODE is for those who work or live in other cities. The classes take place twice a month on Saturday and Sunday.
Some additional classes, such as tutorials, may take place on weekdays, usualy on Fridays.
Regardless of the mode, the programme of both modes of study is identical and is in line of the same curriculum accepted by the Ministry of Culture.
Are their any age limits for admission to your school?
No! We will welcome both people who are nineteen and those who are fourty.
